rogue river : oregon

Along with our adventures in the Oregon dunes, we spent some time on the Rogue River, farther south and close to the California border. The Rogue River starts near Crater Lake and meets the Pacific at Gold Beach, OR. We stayed at the Tu Tu Tun Lodge and kayaked upriver, spotting hawks, herons and even an otter along the way. Such a beautiful place, the river is clear and wide and winding. There are a few remote towns up the river, which are reached only via the mail boats, which shuttle post and people a few times a day!
