We stayed in a tiny and heavenly cabin at the historic Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn, nestled among beautiful redwoods.
The cabin even had a skylight looking up to the trees above.
So many good treats at Big Sur Bakery, strawberry strudel and scones pictured.
We walked trails every day, through the forests, along the cliffs or down to the beach. Beautiful trees, wildflowers, clovers, poppies.
We spent an afternoon and evening at the renowned retreat center, Esalen, where natural hot spring baths are set into the cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Esalen has beautiful grounds, huge vegetable gardens and a perfect place for sunset.
