I’m so grateful to have Mike Rohde as a new friend thanks to Summit Series in Squaw Valley last week. Mike is insanely talented and creates sketchnotes — visual note-taking captured in beautiful hand-drawn lettering and illustration. His work hones in on the core concepts that he hears in meetings, conferences and workshops. Here are some images of his work along with a short video so that you can learn more about how he got started. Awesome guy!

Hi Bryn, this reminds me of a project we did at Digital Divide Data to digitize Theo Brown’s diaries for the Worcester Polytechnic archives. Here are some samples:

Its the most amazing combination of writing, sketching and scrap book stuff I’ve ever seen.

Bryn, thanks for featuring my work and your kind words about it. It was great seeing you creating at Summit Basecamp as well – long live hand-drawn lettering!

Bryn! Wow, thanks for the wonderful introduction to Mike’s beautiful work. The sketchnote of Milton Glaser’s quote is so perfect. I love it.
