garment rack : home inspiration

I just moved into a new apartment and like many a dreamy Brooklyn brownstone, it’s seriously lacking in closet space. So I’m embracing the garment rack concept for now and found some great inspirational images for how this can still look neat and serene.

I’ve thought about building one of these myself a lot like the third one but the cost of metal pipe is surprisingly high. I came up with a design that uses wooden supports and a single metal horizontal pipe to hold as many heavy shirts and jackets as I can put on it without bowing the way a wooden dowel would.

This post was just the inspiration I needed. About to move into a dreamy Brooklyn brownstone myself — with 1 small closet in the entire apartment. Definitely learning to love the exposed closet concept…
