Yesterday I watched a moving and interesting TED Talk by Jake Barton, design principal of the firm Local Projects, who was behind the development and design of Storycorps among many other major projects.
His current focus is on the exhibits of the 9/11 Memorial Museum and this talk explains their approach as well as his view of the significance of story in how we remember history. Hope you enjoy it too and that it adds something to your awareness of today’s significance.

Wouldn’t mind a closet full of these.
The line EQUIPMENT was originally established in 1976 by Christian Restoin whose primary idea was to create menswear shirts for women. EQUIPMENT was recently relaunched in 2010 by Serge Azria with the same vision, plus new designs and a bunch of other developments, like a cashmere collection and men’s line. Here’s a few from my wish list.
Shop online or in their NYC or LA boutiques.

I am so thrilled with the images from Ro of Les Loups Photography from a recent wedding shoot at the nearby Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm. As soon as I heard the line-up of collaborators, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
The shoot was produced by Viva Max Weddings; florals and design by Molly Oliver Flowers; catering by Parker Red; make-up by Blades Natural Beauty; hair by Jackie Schneider Beauty. (Additional vendor and shoot details below.)
Paperfinger contributed new designs just for the shoot — a tall and narrow slanted calligraphy invitation with watercolor border; a coordinated modern slanted menu design with watercolor heading and matching table numbers. It all came together so well, here’s a look at lots of wonderful images. What a killer spot!
Thanks again to Les Loups for all the photos and to this amazing team.

Abe & Frank’s wedding at the Long Island City Foundry was featured yesterday on Design*Sponge!
I’m so happy to see the pics (nice work by Scott Clark!) from their beautiful day, particularly with gorgeous flowers by my pals Poppies & Posies.
I provided calligraphy for Abe & Frank’s invitation addressing and had the fun task of writing mirror and zinc menus for the cocktail bar and dinner tables, which you see pictured above and below. The Foundry makes for such a great venue as always.
And of course, seeing these pics after yesterday’s Supreme Court decision just adds to the joy of them. View the full post on Design*Sponge.
